Kampung Johar Cultural Festival Once Again Held

Central Jakarta Administration once again held Kampung Johar Baru Culture Festival on Jalan Baladewa, Johar Baru Sub-District, Sunday (2/14). The festival presents various Betawi cultural attraction and music community.

Mayor of Central Jakarta, Manggara Pardede said, stigma of Johar Baru citizens that addressed to drugs and brawls must be eliminated. He hoped, the festival could foster the spirit of unity and solidarity among citizens.

"We should create a state of peaceful, safe, and clean. Hence the presence of this diverse community can transmit positive things for people to stay away from drugs," he expressed, Sunday (2/14).

Besides that, he assessed, there is already a direct instruction from Jakarta Governor, the regional working unit (SKPD) to intensify many programs for Johar Baru citizen, such as job skill training and entrepreneurship.

"We do some trainings, such as air conditioning service, food processing, car wash and so on. Then they are also transferred to job seeker side or can open their own business," he disclosed.

Even, the Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA in Johar Baru will keep being added. Through positive event, is hoped able to make people consciously stay away from drugs.
